| Blind in the Light - Synopsis |
Blind in the Light is the story of young Father Michael Becker’s life; a whirlwind climb from his troubled childhood into the Catholic Priesthood; through the Ecclesiastical Academy and finally travel and research as one of the Vatican’s most trusted investigators of spiritual phenomenon. Michael Becker is sensitive to the various waves of spiritual energy. Recognizing this talent, the Vatican assigns him to investigate extreme cases and inexplicable events. His journey is one of personal human frailty and the endless questioning of events unrecognized by the Church. After a serious disagreement regarding a particularly difficult case, he is banished from the opulence of Vatican City and reduced to the position of acting pastor for a rural Kentucky church. A conflicted and disillusioned man, Michael makes the decision to leave the priesthood. By Papal order, he endures a forced “exit interview” and spends seven days discussing the reasons for his decision. During this time, and with the assistance of a long-time friend and clerical therapist, Michael tells of his experiences; unveiling layer after layer of his own emotional turmoil and the confession of his ultimate sin. |
Blind in the Light is the first of a three novel series. The second novel, entitled Carrying Heaven is complete and the third novel, On a Common Plane is nearly completed. |
